Create an animated banner using Photoshop

In this tutorial we will learn to create an animated banner using Photoshop CS6. You can use any other version of Photoshop as well.

Alright lets get started!

Step 1. Open Photoshop and click on File and then New. Or press Ctrl+N if you are using Windows.

Step 2. Now set the Name to “Animate Banner”. Set the dimension to 720x128 in pixels, i.e., width to 720 pixels and height to 128 pixels. Set the resolution to 72 Pixels/Inch, Color mode to “RGB color”, “8 bit”. And finally set the background contents to “White”.

Step 3. In this tutorial we will be creating only 3 new layers. You can create as many layers you want as per your requirement. So, in order to create a 3 new layers click on Layer then select New and then Layers. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows to create new layers.

Step 4. We will add some texts in each layer. You can add images and text on each layers as per your need.

After adding the text, turn off the visibility of each layer.

Step 5. To create the animation we will change the visibility of each layer as per the following manner.

Set only Layer 1 visibility ON for Frame 1.

Duplicate frame 1.

Set time delay of each frame to 1 second.

Set only Layer 2 visibility ON for Frame 2.

Duplicate frame 2.

Set only Layer 3 visibility ON for Frame 3.

Step 6. Save the file in GIF format for this select File then click on “Save for Web” or press Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S.
